Pros and cons of Social Media On Mental Health

Pros

 The internet can be a positive experience if the internet is used to connect with people in similar situations. If you are having online counselling for example or email counselling this can be less daunting to some people then meeting a professional face to face. Also using the internet to stay in touch with close friends and family is a positive experience and a healthy way to use social Media.

Instagram and twitter can be a good way to share photos with friends and family and advertise a business . This is too a positive way to use it.

Cons

The cons are being affected by the internet in a way that lead to depression. It also can lead to anxiety and not living in the moment. It leads to feelings of inadequacy that our lives aren't as perfect as the Instagram feeds we see. No one is perfect and this can lead to not feeling good enough by comparing ourselves to  seemingly perfect image of a life.

Bullying also can start on social media sites like facebook and twitter. It is important to use the internet positively then it is a good experience.
